How Does It Work?

The Naked NKD-R system uses a unique combination of copper-silver ionisation and oxidation - a technology that has been used in commercial and municipal water treatment for decades. Copper ions eliminate algae while silver ions target bacteria, all without the harsh side effects of chlorine. A small residual of sanitiser is still maintained as a backup, but at a fraction of the level found in a conventional pool.

It is chloramines in pool water - the by-products formed when chlorine reacts with sweat, sunscreen, and body oils - not chlorine itself, that produce that familiar chemical odour and cause eye and skin irritation. Freshwater systems dramatically reduce chloramine formation, which is why the difference in water feel is so immediate and noticeable.
